Learn about our mission and values.

The mission of the Ohio Naval Foundation (ONF) is to provide resources and support to the Ohio Navy. The Ohio Navy is an all volunteer force. The Sailors of the Ohio Navy receive no pay, and cover all their own expenses. These include the purchase of their U.S. Navy uniform, chow funds, transportation costs to and from Camp Perry Joint Training Center, and training materials. The mission of the ONF is to assist with these expenses having a major focus on our newly enlisted Sailors.

The Ohio Naval Militia is one of the five State Defense Forces under the direct command of both the Governor and Adjutant General of the Great State of Ohio.

DONT GIVE UP THE SHIP” is the shoulder patch worn by the ONM Sailors. The patch is to commemorate the flag flown by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry’s Battle Ship, during the victory over the British Navy, in the Battle of Lake Erie, 10 September 1813.

At the Ohio Naval Foundation, we believe in the power of community support.

The ONF Mission is to enhance the lives of those who serve by providing essential resources to further the life experiences of the Ohio Navy Sailors.
